Moonlight in the Garden

Moonlight, moonlight,
Neither silver, nor white,
But yellow like a Cheshire cheese,
You shine throught the branches of a tree
With leaves - half open, whilst waiting
For the warm Summer breeze.

Moon, moon, in the night,
Watching Venus on your right,
Touching the grass with you dappled light
As it filters through the branches of the sycamore tree.
I watch with nostalgia as the swing sways to-and-fro,
With the ghosts of the children,
who loved it so.

For all those who had a childhood swing I hope this song reminds you of sounds of laughter and delight!

Snowfall Over London

The snow, the snow
It falls from on high,
So fast, it hides the sky.
It lands on branches bare of leaves
On roof-tops, gardens, streets.
It forms a blanket thick and white,
So soft, so pure, so bright,
In suspended animation - I -
Watch this transformation.

From left and right,
From up and down
Large flakes they fall,
And cover the town.

This snow storm took half an hour to cover all I could see from my window. It was marvellous, so silent - transforming the landscape like in a dream!

Apparition

One moment he is here,
He is near - then suddenly he is gone,
Does he know what he means to us
His friends who wish him well
When the lure of danger casts it's spell,
Adrenaline must flow, but consequences show
That life is not worth losing for a thrill.

Life is precious - good health too,

Our son comes across the world to see us. He stays for a day or two! After he has gone I wonder whether he ws really here - or whether it was a dream!
